Boomers in the Workforce

Found some interesting statistics today that I wanted to share.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projected the number of Baby Boomers aged 45-49 in the workforce would total 18.5 million this year.  This group represents the last of the Baby Boomer generation working its way through our system.  That’s 18.5 million Boomers who won’t reach their full retirement age for another 18-21 years (according to Social Security).

There are another 16.8 million 50-54 year old Boomers in the workforce according to the Bureau, and they won’t reach full retirement age for another 13-17 years.
